Developing exploratory work like this means you never know if the work will ever being used. Sometimes the concepts we provide deliver on the firms guided direction, but in the end only prove that moving in that direction isn’t where the project should go. The creative process is long and takes many turns along the way but the end result helps to guide the project towards an appropriate solution.

Glitschka Studios works with our clients to meet their marketing needs as they grow and expand their business. Vuly Trampolines continues to develop new ideas for those who use their products and their latest is a fun and flexible basketball hoop.

The problem with marketing this new product was the fact it was created after their latest catalog was printed. So we suggested turning it into a promotional that could be folded up and inserted into each of catalogs moving forward. The promotion unfolds to reveal a fun poster design on the front that people can hang up, and the back of the poster provides all the specific product information.

Glitschka Studios will be crossing the pond and heading to London soon to do a creative workshop based on my book Vector Basic Training. I’ll also be presenting my “Drawsigner” talk at the same event later in the day.

Astute Graphics a sponsor of the Lits event asked us to design a poster (20 x 28) they could give away to attenders of my workshop and those who visited their booth.

Taking our visual cues from the rich history of the United Kingdom, we mixed it with the core focus of my talk, and repurposed a popular meme to create a bold yet simplistic design. We purposely avoided branding the poster with even specific information so this design would have a longer shelf life and could be used by Astute Graphics as a promotional piece moving forward.

At Glitschka Studios there is nothing more important to us than leveraging our creativity to facilitate compassion. We were honored to be part of the work Justin Ahrens headed up last year in the slums of Narobi, and anytime we can utilize our passion to create and focus it in on a good cause we jump at the opportunity.

The founders behind a unique collaborative project called Help Ink asked us to contribute a poster design they could sell on their site. Proceeds from poster sales go to help charities, and that simple fact inspired our designs theme which we titled “Do Good.”

I think everyone could learn from this sites motto “Love Art. Love Others.”

Glitschka Studios works with a lot of larger agencies and their multi-national clientele. That said we also enjoy focusing our creative energy on smaller yet equally challenging local clients as well.

One of these smaller clients is Daniel Talsky. By day Daniel is a web developer and by night he’s a rapper going by the persona of Anvil Esquire. He takes his music seriously, but he still likes to have fun with it as well. Hence his moniker is a paradox of absurdity.

Like any creative attempting to get something off the ground his budget was razor thin. Since the real color in terms of his performance is his music we decided to keep his graphics purposefully minimal. We developed a nice brand system he can use in a multitude of ways to help him promote his music and events moving forward at a very reasonable cost.

Glitschka Studios enjoys working on a diverse range of projects with our clients. Part of our creative process is exploring areas that we know little about, researching and learning new things in order to deliver the best design work we can. Recently we were hired by a creative firm out of New York to design a series of linear based illustrations for a Jewish culture music project.

The work included a continuous line portrait of the musician and a system of supporting iconic illustrations that reflect various songs he has produced on a wide range of Jewish themes. The chosen linear style works well with the songs since they are rich and lively.

A few months back Glitschka Studios was contacted by Astute Graphics a software development company out of the United Kingdom. They had read our new book Vector Basic Training, and had recently acquired the IP for an Adobe Illustrator plugin called BetterHandles which we covered in our book. We wear asked to consult and be a beta testers for the new version of the plugin which would be renamed VectorScribe

Our creative process is systematic and we rely heavily on drawing out our ideas in analog form before we ever approach the computer and execute them via digital tools. We feel a good balance between analog and digital is vital to creating precise and well crafted vector art. Any software tool that makes this process more flexible, easier, faster, and with more precision is a must have for any designer or illustrator and this is the case with the new plugin VectorScribe. When we first used it our jaws dropped, it’s intuitive and incredibly useful.

We collaborated with Astute Graphics and came up with a fun approach to brand the new plugin with, a happy buddha character. We also created the slogan “Inspired vector tools for creative enlightenment.” to go with it. Since the VectorScribe plugin tends to generate smiles on the faces of the users who interact with it, we wanted to create a fun memorable character that would do the same.

We enjoy capturing the essence of an experience and reflecting that within a brand graphic and we’d love to do it for your next project.
