Glitschka Studios was hired to create a custom brand logo for a new TV production called “Footnote” which dives deep into hot button topics in an honest and fresh way.

Since the show deals with issues that are controversial we created a custom logo type that would contrast these narratives with a clean, refined word mark. We developed two iterations of the primary brand, and secondary elements to be used as onscreen bug graphics during the broadcast.*

*Glitschka Studios also assisted in the initial art direction for the shows intro graphics as well.

Hey Monkey!

Smart design firms know how to leverage and manage creative skills in order to facilitate a projects success. Hey Monkey! is such a firm, so when they realized their own identity needed a refresh they called Glitschka Studios.

Hey Monkey! creates effective web design and development for their own clients and called upon us to create a new character based identity.

The name of the company is original so on the primary mark we utilizes custom hand lettering. We also felt it was important to make the brand system modular so Hey Monkey! could let it’s brand take on various moods in various context usages. The end result is a fun and effectual identity.

Resonance Ensemble is a new A cappella ensemble whose repertoire is graceful, beautiful, and unique. They needed an identity to match.

Glitschka Studios set out to create a mark that represented sound without relying on any pre-conceived visual that normally comes to mind when one thinks about music.

Sound waves radiate, so we played off of that to create a blossoming of the ensemble in song. The mark represents both the group of singers and the beautiful songs they radiate to their audience. It’s a bold, elegant, and sophisticated mark.

Glitschka Studios loves designing with a sense of humor in mind.

So when NPR Studio 360 contacted Brand New to create a tongue in cheek rebrand of Valentines Day we were thrilled to be invited to contribute.

Our part of the rebranding was to create an alternative character that would replace the stereotypical “Cupid.” So we kick started our creative sarcasm and produced the beloved “Heart Worm™” character.

On Valentine’s Day let your heart be infested with the Heart Worm™. Its burrowing presence will give you passionate heart burn for the apple of your eye. Eat your heart out Cupid!

Linear Personality

My client on this project was a small business owner who specializes in marketing. She requested clean continuous line illustrations that she could integrate into her web site to reflect her own personality and style.

Creating art that is encapsulated within one continuous line is challenging. And as you can see it’s not an ironclad rule but a general stylistic premise we operate under at Glitschka Studios. This style works well for a very broad range of clients and product types and we’d love to draw up some ideas for your next project too.

Renewable Creative Energy

Working as a creative hired gun sometimes means spending a lot of time creating unique solutions that’ll ultimately never see the light of day. Such was the case with this design illustrated for St. Martins Press for use on the cover of a new book. I’ve created other iconic images for this same client, and the creative director loved this tribal styled bear. But after it was all said and done the author didn’t like it so it was never used.

At Glitschka Studios we believe in renewable creative energy, so we recycle any quality design not being used and repurpose it for other projects of ours such as “Vonster Tattoos,” a new line of tribal styled designs we are developing.

Illustrative Profiling

Glitschka Studios was asked to illustrate a character based on an established profile provided to us by the ad agency. The profile contained a description of the fictional character they wanted as it related to hair color, height, age etc. Other information such as her education, friends, marital status, and even vices like “Chocolate” and “Oprah.”

Processing all the various attributes and criteria, balancing them and finding an appropriate visual solution can be challenging to say the least. And for this exploration we ended up providing two options for the agency.

As with most agency work, these explorations were never used.

En Garde!

At Glitschka Studios we work with a wide range of clients. Some are large agencies, others are small businesses and in this case a youth fencing team in need a logo graphic for their team t-shirts.

Since most of the team are left handed they decided to pick a name that played off the word “Sinister” which means on the left, or left side. We elaborated on the concept through our logotype design by capitalizing on visual metaphors.

We like to approach design challenges, with a creative mind set that says “En Garde!”

At Glitschka Studios we enjoy working with all our clients, but when it comes to small business owners we have a passion in helping them succeed. We believe a strong, well conceived, and executed branding is the cornerstone for effective marketing no matter how small or large your company may be.

New Modern Science is a unique name for a unique business model. The owner Chris Hahn has a diverse range of creative skill sets he brings to the lab, whether it’s producing Music, Shooting Video, Developing Web, Directing Print, or Consulting Social Media.

New Modern Science manages and orchestrates teams of creatives to produce solutions for a broad range of clients. So we decided the tone of this brand should be vibrant and fun, but still sophisticated and clean.

Working in a vintage robot as the brands mascot was a nice bonus.

Good -vs- Evil

Our clients cover a very diverse range of services and products that require unique creative solutions to market them effectively. This project was for iovation who helps online business fight fraud by identifying computers with evil intent. They wanted to promote their service in a novel way via a t-shirt design.

Glitschka Studios created fun iconic characters to represent good computers and evil computers. Our design was used with the slogan “Fight Online Fraud with iovation!” printed on the back of the shirt.

We’ll let you decide which one is Mac and which one is PC. ;-P
