Glitschka Studios works with our clients to meet their marketing needs as they grow and expand their business. Vuly Trampolines continues to develop new ideas for those who use their products and their latest is a fun and flexible basketball hoop.

The problem with marketing this new product was the fact it was created after their latest catalog was printed. So we suggested turning it into a promotional that could be folded up and inserted into each of catalogs moving forward. The promotion unfolds to reveal a fun poster design on the front that people can hang up, and the back of the poster provides all the specific product information.

Glitschka Studios will be crossing the pond and heading to London soon to do a creative workshop based on my book Vector Basic Training. I’ll also be presenting my “Drawsigner” talk at the same event later in the day.

Astute Graphics a sponsor of the Lits event asked us to design a poster (20 x 28) they could give away to attenders of my workshop and those who visited their booth.

Taking our visual cues from the rich history of the United Kingdom, we mixed it with the core focus of my talk, and repurposed a popular meme to create a bold yet simplistic design. We purposely avoided branding the poster with even specific information so this design would have a longer shelf life and could be used by Astute Graphics as a promotional piece moving forward.

At Glitschka Studios there is nothing more important to us than leveraging our creativity to facilitate compassion. We were honored to be part of the work Justin Ahrens headed up last year in the slums of Narobi, and anytime we can utilize our passion to create and focus it in on a good cause we jump at the opportunity.

The founders behind a unique collaborative project called Help Ink asked us to contribute a poster design they could sell on their site. Proceeds from poster sales go to help charities, and that simple fact inspired our designs theme which we titled “Do Good.”

I think everyone could learn from this sites motto “Love Art. Love Others.”

Part of our creative process is exploring areas that we know little about, researching and learning new things in order to deliver the best design work we can. Recently we were hired by a creative firm out of New York to design a series of linear based illustrations for a Jewish culture music project.

The work included a continuous line portrait of the musician and a system of supporting iconic illustrations that reflect various songs he has produced on a wide range of Jewish themes. The chosen linear style works well with the songs since they are rich and lively.

A good friend of Glitschka Studios is fellow designer Stefan Mumaw of Reign. Stefan is also an author and approached us about illustrating the art for the cover of his newest book Chasing the Monster Idea.

It goes without saying that no self-respecting creative would ever turn down an opportunity to create a monster when the creative direction is “I want a cool looking monster for the front of my book, you interested?”

Since the book is all about coming up with monstrous ideas I wanted the creature I created to reflect the attributes that one might find in a great concept. Colorful, fun, unique, freakish, a little scary perhaps and of course one eye for that dedicated focus needed in the pursuit.

We hope Stefan’s book is a huge success!

I do a lot of traveling all around the country speaking at design conferences, local AIGA events, AdFed Groups, in-house marketing groups, and schools. The later is one I enjoy doing a lot because it usually involves an aspect of teaching. The audience for the most part is comprised of students eager to jump into our industry and learn new things and that enthusiasm inspires me.

The visual communications department at Bismarck State College has invited me to speak on the topic of “Creating 5ive-Alarm Concepts” and take part in the review of student work. They also asked if I’d design a poster for the event.

Since this presentation is sponsored by a college design program and is student oriented, I decided to turn it into a teaching tool for the departments instructors as well. When I delivered the final art for printing I also provided my build files along with detailed notes about my design concept, creative process, and any methods I used to develop and create the poster design. This allows the the teachers to deconstruct the project with their students and teach from it.

Our goal at Glitschka Studios is to deliver great artwork tailored specifically for each of our clients individual needs. The creative approach we take needs to be appropriate in context of style and flexibility of use over a broad range of marketing channels. The primary usage for this marketing campaign was billboards, and secondary applications in print collateral spreads.

The focus of this assignment was real estate development and promoting it to the local area. The XBrand Agency hired us to illustrate a variety of life situations that reflect the potential for this new community. Like life, linear styled art takes unpredicted twists and turns to create an organic timeline, when it’s all said and done it forms a complete visual message. The linear style of illustration is sophisticated yet fun, making it well suited for advertising purposes across a very diverse demographic.
