Glitschka Studios enjoys working on a diverse range of projects with our clients. Part of our creative process is exploring areas that we know little about, researching and learning new things in order to deliver the best design work we can. Recently we were hired by a creative firm out of New York to design a series of linear based illustrations for a Jewish culture music project.

The work included a continuous line portrait of the musician and a system of supporting iconic illustrations that reflect various songs he has produced on a wide range of Jewish themes. The chosen linear style works well with the songs since they are rich and lively.

One could describe iconography as a universal visual language delivered in a pedestrian vernacular. Glitschka Studios enjoys creating these simple pictographic images that help to communicate and relay our clients theme, function, or service to their intended audience.

This particular set of icons was for a long distance calling service called VoxCall and represents the various services they offer to their clientele. The final art utilizes the companies primary brand color and will be used both in print collateral and on their web site.

Even creative studios need creative help at times. Hepburn Creative a multimedia design company specializing in video production and photography needed an appropriate mark that would represent them well in their industry, so they turned to Glitschka Studios to design a new identity.

Whether shooting video or photography, it’s all about capturing the perfect angle within the greater context of the project. The colors in this design represent these angles, the circular shape reflects the project focus, and the spark is the inspiring idea Hepburn Creative captures for their clients.

A blurry image can be purposeful through acute depth of field, or it can be a tell-tale sign of ones lacking skills. Having the right focus is what marketing is all about, and the creative continuity we’ve established within this brand system enables our client to more effectively market themselves to their clients, and that’s what communication arts is all about.

An entrepreneurial client contacted Glitschka Studios about developing a new approach to syndicated food journalism. We love to cook up original creative recipes so we put on our conceptual chef hats and got to work.

We first developed a character called “Bon Mangez.” The name is French, “Bon” meaning “Good” and “Mangez” meaning “Eat.” Bon is a snarky but fair food critic personality the public will enjoy, and serves as a syndicated platform that localized writers can license and use to do restaurant reviews for print or online.

We also designed a fun and unique approach to the rating system, mustaches. And the hierarchy follows the guidelines set forth by the Association of Food Journalists.

Huntik™ is a roll playing game produced by Upper Deck Company. Each character card in the set needed a custom avatar icon designed for it.

Simplicity is key when developing iconography. So being able to bake down complex character attributes so they work as a simplistic one color quickly read piece of art can be challenging.

Unfortunately due to the economy Upper Deck Company has now shut down their entertainment division and this killed the project before it ever saw the light of day.

Tapestry Church is a progressive ministry that understands the culture they exist in and needed a new identity that would reflect their core principles better.

With each project we define an appropriate visual aesthetic that fits the client. Tapestry Church wanted to get away from the old stodgy visual past and move into a new clean and modern future with their identity. We accomplished this while still accurately reflecting their purpose statement derived from a Bible verse that says:

“I want you woven into a tapestry of love, in touch with everything there is to know of God.”

Our client was so happy with their new branding that they asked us to design another new identity for a separate ministry called “Kiddie Garden PreSchool” as well.

Creating art that is encapsulated within one continuous line is challenging. And as you can see it’s not an ironclad rule but a general stylistic premise we operate under at Glitschka Studios. At Glitschka Studios we enjoy working with all our clients, but when it comes to small business owners we have a passion in helping them succeed. We believe a strong, well conceived, and executed branding is the cornerstone for effective marketing no matter how small or large your company may be.

New Modern Science is a unique name for a unique business model. The owner Chris Hahn has a diverse range of creative skill sets he brings to the lab, whether it’s producing Music, Shooting Video, Developing Web, Directing Print, or Consulting Social Media.

New Modern Science manages and orchestrates teams of creatives to produce solutions for a broad range of clients. So we decided the tone of this brand should be vibrant and fun, but still sophisticated and clean.

Working in a vintage robot as the brands mascot was a nice bonus.
