Branding Icons
Project: Product Brand Icons
Client: Websense
Art Director: Eric Burress
Glitschka Studios was brought into this project by Websense in house art director. They hired us to create branding icons for their three product categories.
The creative process is not always a smooth one. After delivering our first round of ideas Websense art director left the company and we began to work with their in house marketing department instead. The new creative brief they provided for this job proved to be very challenging and changed scope of our work.
They still wanted branded icons for each of their three product categories but they also wanted branded icons for the multiple sub products within each category and have them tie into the parent icon. And to do all this without relying upon common visual metaphors to define such topics like web (globe), security (lock), Email (envelope) etc.
Our creative solution utilized their established brand colors and defined the services by geometric shapes which could then nest each sub category.
Like most explorations the work was never used.
